Happy family, happy pup......happy endings!

Rito: adopted December 8, 2011

Picture
Rito was found at the high kill shelter in Puerto Vallarta.  He is just a little guy and the shelter doesn't have much space so dogs of all sizes are held in the same kennels.  He got lucky, got out and is now in foster care until he is healthy & ready for a new family.  He is about 5 years old & has some issues from the poor care he received before becoming a MexPup.  He got some much needed dental care & lost a few teeth in the process, but should do much better now with a healthy mouth.  He can be shy around new people, but is a love with those he is comfortable with.  Didn't you always want a Chihuahua?  Yo quiero Taco Bell!!!!!

Chiquis: adopted December 14, 2011

Picture
We found her at the acopio (a high kill shelter).  At 4 months old with a still developing immune system, she was at great risk in the acopio.  We simply couldn't leave her there.  She is a power house.  She enters a room and thinks it's all about her.  She believes that we are all there just for her (and she is right).  She will likely be a smaller girl (maybe 7-9 kilos).  She loves to play, jump, run, and get your attention.  She thinks her new brother (boy acopio pup) is the perfect playmate.  Life is great for this little one - she just knew she was going to be saved, she just knew she was destined for more.

after....

Picture
Rito traveled to Canada and was happily enjoying life in a foster home.  He had piqued the interest of more than a few of you but remained in foster care for a few weeks.  Finally, someone came to us and simply woudn't take no for an answer.....they had adopted another MexPup, Levi, and we knew what a wonderful home they would provide.  He now has a number of four legged siblings and his mom is convinced that he and Levi continue to speak Spanish to each other when they want to keep secrets from the others.

Picture
One of our great MexPup volunteers Hanna introduced Chiquis to her forever family and she has been living the good life ever since!  Whether she's having a day at the office (she's become the office mascot!), walking the woods, watching ducks on the water or tucked into the covers keeping her new family warm,  this sweet girl is always making MexPup proud!  Thank you to her family for opening their hearts to this lovely girl.......she knew you were out there and she was so ready to join your family.

Emily: adopted November 24, 2011

Picture
Emily was pulled from the high kill shelter in Puerto Vallarta.  She was a very ill little puppy, dehydrated and in need of attention.  Thankfully, Angelica noticed and pulled her out to get the help she needed.  After a few weeks in foster care, her health improved.  She is about 4 months old, will likely be a medium size dog as an adult and is a great pup.  She loves her foster family & enjoys spending time with them whenever possible, but she can be a bit nervous with new people.  She does great with other dogs & loves to play.  She is very scared of the leash and we assume this is maybe due to her capture (to be taken to the acopio) or something that happened to her prior to that.  We are confident that with time, confidence and training, it is something she will overcome.  She is a really calm dog & does well in the house and in the yard.  She is ready for her own family.  Someone to love her and that she can love back in return.  She will make a great member of one lucky family…..maybe that’s you?

Bendito: adopted November 30, 2011

Picture
He was dropped off at the acopio by his family.  They simply said they didn't want him anymore.  At 3 months old with an underdeveloped immune system, he was at great risk in the acopio so we took him out.  He is a sweetheart.  He is shy & a little scared (wouldn't you be if your family abandoned you at the pound?).  After just a few hours, he has already started gaining confidence, is playing like a champ & loves to cuddle.

after.......

Picture
Emily's family saw her photo after a friend posted it.  They just knew she was a special girl and had to meet her.  When they all got together, it was just a perfect fit.  Now she has a family to love and call her very own.  We are so happy for everyone & can't wait to see photos of her as she grows up!

after.....

Picture
Bendito loved having his photo taken and it surely paid off!  He was featured a few times on the MexPup facebook page & everyone realized what a special boy he was.  We received a wonderful application shorty after he became a MexPup and then we only needed to get him healthy & neutered so that he coud travel to Vancouver Island.  He loves his new family & they love him right back.  Another great family for another great puppy!

Ness: adopted November 24, 2011

Picture
Ness was rescued from a high kill shelter in Puerto Vallarta. You might be amazed to hear that they said she was found in deplorable conditions...when a high kill shelter says that, what can it mean? She was beyond thin, had severly matted hair, a variety of maladies and was simply exhausted. It appears as if she has had numerous pregnancies in her 4-5 years of life - poor girl just needs a break. She was in foster care getting healthy, and rested during her treatments for the skin issues and treatment for a vaginal tumor. The sparkle is back in her eye and her bones are no longer showing. She still has a bit of a sad and worried look, but she is very adorable. This little girl is house trained and extremely sweet. She is extremely grateful and very loving with everyone that has a moment to spend with her.

Vida (formerly Fercha): adopted Nov 24, 2011

Picture
Fercha hadn't been so lucky. This sweet 5 month old pup had been living under & around a taco stand.  It was a place to get food, but also a place to get kicked. Everything changed for her when Fernando decided he wanted some tacos.  He saw this doll & knew just want to do (he works at Sabuesos - MexPup's vet). Off to the vet office they went & into her life entered caring, tenderness & love.  She is doing much better, is up to 4.3 kilos and will soon get to go to a foster home in PV.  She is small girl & will probably stay that way.  Who wouldn't want someone that is an expert on street tacos in their life?!?

after............

Picture
She arrived in Canada ready for her new life.  Along the route to her foster home, she spent a few nights with Sue & Larry. Then she went on to her foster home.  Some time passed but they just couldn't stop thinking about her.  A decision was made, Ness was coming back to their home to live.  She now has a few four-legged siblings and a wonderful family that loves her completely.  She gets to relax, play and enjoy life.  A wonderful happiliy ever after for this sweet, gentle girl.

after....

Picture
This sweet little girl was really shy and it came through in her photos.  It was easy to see that she had a tough life and the streets had made her nervous.  The great news is that she will never have to struggle like that again.  She now has a wonderful new home with a family that loves her.  She gets to enjoy life and be a puppy.  We couldn't be happier for all of them.

Maia (formerly Dida): adopted November 22, 2011

Picture
Dida & her littermates had a tough start in life.  At just a few days old, still blind, the 5 were found abandoned on the banks of a river.  No mama dog was near them & 2 had already died.  Some questioned what to do, as bottle feeding puppies is hard, time consuming and expensive and taking in newborn puppies is at least a 2 month commitment.  Enter Sue & Gail, foster moms extraordinaire!  They took in the 3 pups, had little sleep during the bottle feeding weeks and provided all that these little pups needed.  They made a difference and we can’t thank them enough. Dida is a lively, smart & inquisitive puppy.  She is very social and affectionate.

Maggie (formerly Foxy): adopted Nov 23, 2011

Picture
Foxy was living on the street & was hungry. She found a way to sneak into a backyard that had dogs & food. The owners kept seeing her, but they just couldn't catch her.  One time they had her cornered, and then she was just gone. After a few weeks, they were finally lucky enough to catch her.  The good news is that she had been eating well.  The bad news is that living on the streets is tough on any dog. This little girl is just over a year old and weighs about 9 kilos. She loves to play, she loves to cuddle and she is more than happy to roll over for belly rubs.  She may have been sly as a fox when she was homeless, and now she's just foxy.

Benji: adopted October 31, 2011

Picture
Benji showed up in Colonia Buenos Aires, in PV a few months ago and was living on the streets just trying to survive. He worked his way into Franca's house & heart. This foster mom says "the very least we can say about him is that he is clever, determined and a survivor".  He is about 3 years old and probably weighs about 7-8 kilos. He is house broken & walks well on leash. This great dog is looking for a great home. He is smart, he wants to please, needs love (don't we all) and gives lots of love (sounds like a winner to me).

Sir Walter Raleigh: adopted Nov. 21, 2011

Picture
Sir Walter Raleigh was seen with a pack of street dogs roaming around PV.  He was skinny, weak and obviously needed help. Lydia stepped in, befriended him and took him to her home. This little guy is about 2 years old, has some Chihuahua (but is mostly MSD - mexican street dog) and weighed about 6 lbs when he was rescued.  He will gain some weight, but will be a small dog with a BIG HEART & lots of love to give. He has an auto-immune disorder which will require him to be on medication for his life (most likely a very small dose of prednisone which thankfully is not an expensive drug).  This guy is a cuddler, but likes to hide away when sleeping/resting. He is a quick learner, obedient and loyal. If your are looking for a little dog, he might just be the one!!!

after.....

Picture
Dida's family had seen her pictures on the MexPup site and knew that she was just the right puppy for them. They couldn't wait for her arrival and were so excited to finally get to bring her home.  She now lives on Vancouver Island and get to just be a puppy living with a family that loves her.

after....

Picture
Have you ever seen a photo, read a story & just known?  Well, that's the way it was for Foxy's new family.  They saw her photos and simply fell in love.  She arrived on Vancouver Island, met her new mom and hasn't looked back since.  She lives in a great home with a wonderful family & gets to run around with her 4 legged sister.  Life is good!

after....

Picture
Benji was getting ready to travel to Canada to find his forever home & Franca realized that he had already found it.  We are thankful to Franca for rescuing him, fostering him and falling in love with him.  We are happy that he is already home!

after.....

Picture
SWR arrived in Canada and got settled into his foster home with Cat.  Well, a few days passed and he had become a fixture at home.....Cat realized that she simply couldn't let this little guy go.  No one knew it on day 1 in his new country, but he was already home.  Foster failure happens..........it's the best type of failure and we couldn't be happier for Sir Walter Raleigh and his wonderful new family!

Parche: adopted October 25, 2011

Picture
Parche was abandoned on the streets of La Penita de Jaltemba. She was alone and scared but thankfully this sweet puppy was rescued.  Sarah was able to foster her and has spent the last 3 months getting her healthy and ready for a new family.  This little girl is about 7 months old, weighs about 6.5 kilos and stands about 2 feet tall. She is a very smart pup, is really trainable and is ready to learn. She loves to be loved, is very playful and is good with other dogs. She is ready for her forever family.....are you ready to welcome her into your home?

Wags (formerly Tobi): adopted October 29, 2011

Picture
Tobi was found running around the Malecon and dodging traffic in downtown Vallarta. Thankfully, Marcella was able to gain his trust & get him out of danger. He was a bit "ruff" around the edges but cleaned up well. He spent his first days glued to Marcella's side, but is slowly gaining confidence.  He has now settled into a routine and has had no problems with her cats. It seems that he may have been abused, but we know from experience that love & patience will help him get over his fears. He is about 7-8 months old, weighs about 7 kilos, and is about ready to go to his forever home.

after.......

Picture
While in foster on Vancouver Island, Parche went to the beach with her mom one day.  It was a great day.  She found her new best friend, Timber, and Timber's mom fell in love with Parche.  Fast forward a few days and Parche is now settling into her new home with Timber & the rest of the family.  It was a match made by the new furry siblings - thankfully the humans also realized they were right together!

after.......

Picture
He arrived in Canada and was only in his foster home a few days.  His forever family came to meet him and fell in love instantly.  This couple knew that they had found their match.  He has a fur buddy living next door, so play dates will be regular part of his life.  We are so happy that this little guy is now home.

Riley Nacho MacInnis: adopted Oct 22, 2011

Picture
Nacho & his littermates had a tough start in life.  At just a few days old, still blind, the 5 were found abandoned on the banks of a river.  No mama dog was near them & 2 had already died.  Some questioned what to do as, bottle feeding puppies is hard, time consuming, expensive and taking in newborn puppies is at least a 2 month commitment.  Enter Sue & Gail, foster moms extraordinaire!  They took in the 3 pups, had little sleep during the bottle feeding weeks and provided all that these little pups needed.  They made a difference and we can’t thank them enough. Nacho loves human attention & is a cuddler, but he also has a mind of his own & is very inquisitive.  Please check out the blog(http://3puertovallartapuppies.wordpress.com/the-puppies/) that was kept over the past few months for more information about Nacho, his siblings, his foster moms & their time together.  Puppy, who doesn't love a puppy!

Chester: adopted Oct 24th, 2011

Picture
Chester was rescued by Maria.  It is obvious that his life had been extremely difficult.  Besides being skinny & covered in ticks & fleas, this little guy was so very afraid.  He is now doing better.  He loves playing and loves getting/giving love, but he still cowers if there are really loud noises or yelling (he trembles & hides as if afraid he is about to be hit).  He also is very afraid of large sticks (mops, brooms, etc).  This 2 year old terrier mix is 4.8 kilos and very healthy.  He has plenty of energy, but also loves being a couch potato.  We think he would do best in a home that does not have small children.  A home that is calm so that he will feel secure.  He does well with both dogs & cats.  If you've been looking for a little guy & have lots of love to give, Chester is looking for you.

after......

Picture
Nacho traveled to Vancouver Island to find his family and they are amazing.  He has a fur sibling and upon arrival knew he was home.  He can already be found helping in the kitchen - happy pup, happy family!

after.....

Picture
Laura saw Chester and fell in love.....trust us it was not a surprise.  Chester now has a fur brother, Norris, and a mom that loves him just the way he is.  He has a nuturing home where he will learn to trust and have confidence that he is loved.  We are so happy that he is getting his second chance to have a happy life.........thank you for helping us to help him.

Millie: adopted Oct 20, 2011

Picture
Millie was dropped at the local high kill shelter by her family. She had to be scared & uncertain of what was happening to her.  I'm sure she was just hoping for some love.  She was taken to adoption day & was one of the final 2 dogs......not wanted & being returned to a shelter that has no veterinary care and too many cases of distemper.  We simply couldn't let that happen.  We had no plan, but asked for help and it came.  We met Frankie that day (thank you Frankie for the donation) and Maria agreed to foster her (thank you Maria for offering up your home & your time).  She tested negative for distemper & is now in a 20 day quarantine for her 2nd test (fingers crossed).  Millie was a little nervous when she arrived at her new foster home, but she settled in after checking it all out.  She is a sweet girl, very smart and ready for a life where being hit will never happen.

Oscar (formerly Snaggles): adopted Oct 8, 2011

Picture
Snaggles was pulled from the high kill shelter in PV.  He was attacked by another dog at the acopio & had to get out of there to have a chance.  He is about 2 years old and weighs about 7 kilos.  Tall he is not, but he is a lover & he is a hugger - seriously, wraps his legs around you & squeezes!  He does well on a leash and loves kids.  This little guy is a bit nervous in new environments, but with a bit of attention & care he settles right in.  He continues to gain confidence and we are hoping that his forever home will give him the stability & love that he needs to blossom into an even greater dog - he so wants to be a great dog!

after..............

Picture
Millie's story touched Laura & she knew they needed to meet.  There was an immediate connection & then the waiting began.  The quarantine period had to be respected & after 20 days, Millie got her clean bill of health and moved to her forever home.  Her fur brother Lance loved her from the moment she arrived.  Her foster mom will get to visit and the family is now settling into the happy endings part of the story!

after...............

Picture
He joined his new family & hasn't looked back.  He strained to get in the house, walked in with confidence & knew he was home.  He thinks that Sam his Great Dane brother is just the perfect size for a playmate (120 lbs versus 16 lbs) and they have a ball.  He loves having 3 4-legged siblings and was hugging his new mom before we left (we told her he was a hugger).  We are so happy that this guy is finally home!

Zipper (formerly Candy): adopted Oct 7, 2011

Picture
Candy was found roaming the streets skinny, matted and with an injured leg.  Thankfully, Jeffery scooped her up and got her to the vets.  With love and attention this little fully vaccinated & spayed 1 year old has really come into her own.  She has lots of energy, loves to play and is still very puppy (can get into trouble if not monitored).  She is house broken, crate trained and does well with dogs, cats and kids.

She arrived in Victoria and spent some time looking for her family.  The good news is that she finally found them.  She now has a few kids and great parents to hang out with every day.  What a wonderful happy ending!

Chico (formerly Clyde): adopted Oct 2, 2011

Picture
Clyde was found on the street with his sister Bonnie. Abandoned and starving at the street market in La Penit de Jaltemba. They were like little bandits looking for food. They ran under Sarah's car and wouldn't come out. Thankfully they had chosen the right car. She took them in and spent weeks getting them healty and back on track. Clyde has a beautiful black face.  He is gentle and is very good with other dogs. They love to run and play, and will make great pups for a family.

They were adopted together by a family on Vancouver Island.  They will get to spend their lives together........I couldn't think of a better place for them!

Kiba (formerly Bonnie): adopted Oct 2, 2011

Picture
Bonnie was found on the street with her brother Clyde. Abandoned and starving at the street market in La Penit de Jaltemba. They were like little bandits looking for food. They ran under Sarah's car and wouldn't come out.  Thankfully they had chosen the right car.  She took them in and spent weeks getting them healty and back on track.  Bonnie has lovely black eyeliner & a smaller amount of black on her muzzle.  They love to run and play, and will make great pups for a family.

They were adopted together by a family on Vancouver Island.  They will get to spend their lives together........I couldn't think of a better place for them!

Raffi (formerly Rapi): adopted Oct 3, 2011

Picture
Rapi was found at a gas station. She had been hit twice by a car, was obviously injured and in distress.  Thankfully, Jenniffer saw her and took action.  She got her to a vet for evaluation where they splinted her leg and started her on the road to recovery.  She is approximately 8 months old and currently weighs 10.5 kilos. This little girl is healing well and enjoying her new life as a cared for member of her foster family.  She loves playing with both of her 4-legged foster siblings and has a great personality.

after.....

Picture
Raffi now lives on Victoria Island and has a family all her own (including a four legged furry member). She gets to play all the time.  What a wonderful happy ending for this pup!

Teeka (formerly Chica): adopted Sept 27, 2011

Picture
Chica showed up at El Arrayan (best Mexican restaurant in Vallarta) one day underweight and infested with fleas & ticks. She had picked the right place, as the owners Carmen & Claudia, love animals. They took this sweet little 2-3 year old girl to the vets, got her cleaned up & on the road to recovery.  She is about 8 kilos and 42 cm tall. This spunky little thing is feeling much better & although she loves her foster home, she would love a place to call her own. She is sweet, loving, young, energetic, playful & happy.

Coqueta: adopted Sept 21, 2011

Picture
Coqueta was one of a group of 12 puppies from 2 litters, which were found under a bridge in Vallarta. Tiny and in a risky location, the seasonal rains were coming any day, a hero saw them & MADE A DIFFERENCE. Coqueta is a princess. She loves attention and makes sure that you know about it.  She is a beautiful honey colored jewel and is about 2.5 months and weighs in at 6.2 kilos.

after.....

Picture
Chica arrived in Canada full of spunk & ready to meet her new family.  They opened the door, she ran to check out her new toys & never looked back.  She just knew she was home...........so awesome!

after.....

Picture
Coqueta lives in Puerto Vallarta and has a wonderful life.  She has a family that loves her, she gets to visit the pups that helped raise her, and she gets to foster other MexPups & teach them the ropes (life from the perspective of a puppy is certainly helping Lugar as he gains more confidence).  We are also thrilled as we get to watch her grow.  Happy pup, Happy Juan, Liz, Ramon & Mayoli!

Daisy: adopted Sept 18, 2011

Picture
Daisy was rescued from a family that didn't have the time, interest or money to take care of her. She lived her life tied to a 4 ft rope, with no shelter and whatever food the family could afford - mostly tortillas. Her savior came along and asked to take her from the family, they agreed and the process of removing the more than 400 ticks began (yes, she was completely covered). She was nurtured for over 6 months to get her back to health & now she is ready. This almost 2 year old weighs about 15 kilos.  She has beautiful markings and a wonderful disposition.

Amigo: adopted Sept 17, 2011

Picture
Amigo was found in Punta Mita, fending for himself on the streets. Thankfully, Ana found him, got him off the streets, cleaned up, and healthy (fully vaccinated & neutered). Sadly, he was exposed to ringworm while in a foster home, so the search for his forever home had to be put on hold. He is fully recovered and so ready to have a real home. He loves to play ball, hang out with humans and does great with other dogs.

after........

Picture
Daisy now has a family that loves her!  She lives on Vancouver Island and is a treasured part of a real family.  We couldn't be happier for this girl - she waited a long time for her happily ever after and she hit the jackpot!

after......

Picture
Amigo found his forever family and we all couldn't be happier.  He now lives on Vancouver Island and has a wonderful new life!  He has a 4 legged furry sibling to play with all the time.....life is good!

Stewie: adopted Sept 14, 2011

Picture
Stewie was one of a group of 12 puppies from 2 litters, which were found under a bridge in Vallarta. Tiny and in a risky location, the seasonal rains were coming any day, a hero saw them & MADE A DIFFERENCE. Stewie is full of personality. He loves to play, he loves to jump and he loves to interact with any person or animal in the room.

Dorothy: adopted Sept 14, 2011

Picture
Dorothy was one of a group of 12 puppies from 2 litters, which were found under a bridge in Vallarta. Tiny and in a risky location, the seasonal rains were coming any day, a hero saw them & MADE A DIFFERENCE. Dorothy is a funny girl. Sometimes shy, sometimes the life of the party, she definitely keeps us guessing. One constant remains, she is definitely sweet.

after........

Picture
Stewie has his new family.  He became a Canadian and got a little boy all of his own on the same day.....talk about a lucky pup!  We can't wait to hear all the stories that these 2 little guys are going to share throughout the years.  Lucky pup, lucky family!

after....

Picture
Dorothy has a wonderful new family on Vancouver Island that loves her very much.  She has her own little girl and a great new life in front of her. She came from a river bed with almost no chance at a life - that all changed because someone helped.  Now this little girl gets her happy ending with her happy family!

Jolene (formerly Toetoe): adopted Sept 14, 2011

Picture
Toetoe was one of a group of 12 puppies from 2 litters, which were found under a bridge in Vallarta. Tiny and in a risky location, the seasonal rains were coming any day, a hero saw them & MADE A DIFFERENCE. Toetoe is a sweet little girl. She is the smallest of the bridge puppies. She loves to play, but she also loves to sleep. She is a lover - she will fall into your arms given half the chance.

Sol (formerly Brian): adopted Sept 14, 2011

Picture
Brian was one of a group of 12 puppies from 2 litters, which were found under a bridge in Vallarta.  Tiny and in a risky location, the seasonal rains were coming any day, a hero saw them & MADE A DIFFERENCE.  Brian is a big fluff ball and lays in whatever water he can find.  Cool weather is a must for him (like Victoria maybe?!?) . He is also quite the hugger - when he gets his front legs wrapped around you beware.....he doesn't want to let go.  Brian has a plush, thick, amazing soft white coat - where it comes from nobody knows. I think you need a big fur ball in your life!

after.....

Picture
Jolene made the trip to Canada to meet her forever family. This lucky little girl has 2 guys to play with and call all her own.  As you can see in the photo, she already knows this is a great partnership!

We love happy endings!

after.......

Picture
The big fur ball ended up moving to Vancouver Island, BC.  He will be so happy in the cool weather as his coat was definitely built for it.  He has a wonderful new family that fell for him from his photos and knew it was true love as soon as they met.  We are so happy you were found before the rains came and took you out to sea - Happy life little guy!

Khloe (formerly Snow): adopted August 16, 2011

Picture
Snow is a beautiful medium sized white dog with a beautiful soft coat. She was brought to the vet by someone who wouldn't care for her and thought it best to just have her put down. Mabel from Sabuesos called us and asked if we could take her in. The team at Sabuesos helps make what we do possible and they give us so much we had to say yes. Bonus, she happened to be a great dog too!

We are grateful that a wonderful family from Victoria, BC decided to adopt this energetic little girl.  She is having a blast running through the tall grass they have in various parks on Vancouver Island - happy pup = happy family!

Bailey: adopted July 29, 2011

Picture
Bailey was living tied by a short rope in the sun with no food or water.  She had been beaten by her owner (jerk) and was covered in fleas & ticks. Linda came to her rescue and now Chad has taken up her foster care.  Everyone came together to give this little girl a second chance.  She is about 9 months old and weighs approximately 18 ibs.  She is safe & loved, and now just needs a forever home.

Bailey found her forever home in Puerto Vallarta.  She is now happy, loved and an important part of her family.  Thanks to all who helped to make this happen!

Lucy: adopted July 21, 2011

Picture
Lucy was at a shelter scheduled to be euthanized when an angel appeared & saved her. Tuck & her friend Ramona couldn't let this cute girl die when all she needed was some medicine, love & care.  It has been a few months since those bleak days and Lucy has already moved on.  She is healthy & ready for her forever family.

Thanks to Jennifer Peters, a wonderful family was found. Enter Leza & Gilberto - they had been looking for the right dog to join their family and Lucy was the perfect match. I love the new family photo - happy, relaxed little lamb amongst her smiling from ear to ear family.  This is what love looks like!

Maya: adopted July 22, 2011

Picture
Maya, a black lab mix, was found hanging by her neck from a wall in a small town north of Mexico City.  She was alive because this smart little girl used her rear feet to brace herself.  A wonderful couple rescued her and have been nursing her back to health.  Her wounds continue to heal and we expect a full recovery.

The foster family, Angelika & her husband decided to keep Maya. She has found her permanent home with them and their other 4 legged family members.  I am certain that she will have a wonderful life with the family that saved her from torture.  Thank you to them & to all that make a difference.

Lita (formerly Sophia): adopted July 13, 2011

Picture
The final member of the "trash bag" puppies.  Sophia is the biggest of the litter. She had a few more health issues, but has conquered them all and is enjoying her new life.  She has proven herself to be very smart and ready to learn.

She went to a wonderful foster home and that was how she found her forever family. A friend came to visit, saw this beautiful little girl and knew that she was just the right dog for them. Frodoe, their 3 year old pup, has welcomed her into the family, making sure she is ok in her new home & sleeping nose to nose with her.  She gets to swim in a river & has 1.5 acres of fenced yard. YEA!

Diego (formerly Gizmo): adopted July 13, 2011

Another "trash bag" puppy is this cute little boy.  He has personality, playfulness, energy, a huge smile and licks for everyone.  This little guy has no idea that he was considered trash - he thinks he's all that and then some!

He arrived on Vancouver Island and went to a wonderful foster home before finding his forever home.  He now has a wonderful Canadian family to call his own.  He gets to romp around like he loves to do with the other 2 doggies in his new family.  What a great life he will have!

Perrito (formerly Fiona): adopted July 2, 2011

Picture
This sweet little girl was one of the "trash bag" puppies.  They were found tied in a plastic bag in a trash pile.  Thankfully, Kathleen & Michelle noticed the bag moving, investigated, found the puppies and immediately took them home.

She now has a great family in Sooke, BC.  She has a big sister (the 4 legged furry kind) and a wonderful mom that love watching her tear around the house with toys in her mouth.  Happy Puppy!!

Mexi (formerly Frida): adopted July 3, 2011

Picture
Frida was abandoned outside of Purr Project (wonderful no-kill cat shelter in Puerto Vallarta). They took her in, gave her love, got her on the road to recovery and asked MexPup to help find her forever home. She's was 4 months old and a playful terrier mix.   She now lives on Vancover Island with her family and has 3 kids to call her very own.  She is a happy little girl that is thankful to have found her forever home, and we couldn't be happier for her & her new pack.

Jaxson (formerly Jackson): adopted July 2, 2011

Picture
Another of the "trash bag" puppies, he was the little guy of the group (just don't tell him that).  Jackson had a lot of personality and playfulness, but was just as happy sitting in your lap taking in all the love.

He found a wonderful family on Vancouver Island to call his own.  This little guy now has 2 little girls to play with everyday and will never have to worry about being discarded as trash.  One amazing survivor has joined one great Canadian family........don't you love happy endings?!

Buri: adopted June 2011

Picture
Buri was hit by a car and simply left.  The local pound picked her up off the street with a sever leg injury and there was fear of the need for amputation. Thankfully, that was not the case and she is recovering beautifully.  She just loves running around (check her out on the beach: video).  She is a sweet, playful, happy 1 year old pit mix that is housebroken and leash trained.  She is gentle and wonderful with everyone (adults, children, cats, other dogs).

So many people searched to find the right home for Buri.  After a number of house visits, Zoraya found just the right match for this special girl.  She is with her new family getting all the love she deserves.

Lukas: adopted June 18, 2011

Picture
Lukas is a 1 year 8 month old lab mix.  We had seen him on the streets for a few weeks watching his health & body deteriorate.  Even though we focus on small & medium dogs, we couldn't just leave him to get worse.  He was in foster care for almost 6 weeks and had a permanent smile on his face & was just a happy guy.

He found his forever family at a PEACE event in Bucerias.  He gets to go to work with Armando every night. We know he will love being with his dad and having a "job".

Tequila (formerly Miau): adopted May 2011

Picture
She was found at Purr Project - a wonderful no-kill cat shelter in Puerto Vallarta.  A little puppy taking refuge from the mistreatment of some misguided young boys.  It took a little time to get her healthy, but she was ready to become a Canadian and loves her new home & they love her!

Unconditional Love !
