Grody - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ SHY AT FIRST, LOYAL FOR LIFE ~
These puppies journey began in the most heartbreaking way: a woman walking by a trash pile noticed a plastic bag that was moving. Inside, to her horror, there was an entire litter of puppies, abandoned and barely clinging to life. She tried calling the city shelter but got no response. Desperate to help, she reached out to Nayeli, who didn’t hesitate for a second and took them all in. When they arrived at the shelter, they were filthy, malnourished, and crawling with fleas and ticks. A vet visit revealed they were (thankfully) free of any of the scariest illnesses, but they were battling worms, parasites, and giardia which can be dangerous for small puppies. With proper care, deworming, and antibiotics, they have made an incredible recovery. Grody was one of those lucky puppies.
Grody is about 1 year old, weighs around 10.3 kilos, and is a loving mixed-breed beautiful female.
Today, Grody is a picture of resilience; sweet, social, and full of love to give. She is the kind of dog who quietly wins your heart with her gentle ways and playful charm. Whether she is trotting alongside you on a walk, wagging her tail at a passing pup, or curling up after playtime with her doggy friends, Grody brings warmth wherever she goes. She is gentle with kids, affectionate with anyone willing to give her a scratch behind the ears, and happy to share everything she has, from her food to her favorite cozy corner. Though she can get a bit anxious in new environments and is not a fan of crates, she quickly settles once he knows she is safe. Grody needs a family who sees her heart. Someone to show her that the world is safe, walks are fun, and love is forever. Whether you’re looking for a buddy for yourself, a family member to join your kids, or a companion for your dog, Grody would be a great match. She is ready for a forever home and to fill your life with joy.
Grody’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Grody into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Kirah - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ From survival to love ~
Kirah’s story begins on the streets, where she and her companion showed up out of nowhere one day, wandering into a construction site as if hoping they would finally find a safe place. No one knew if they had ever had a home or if life on the streets was all they had ever known. Every day, the construction workers gave them food, water, and sometimes a little affection; a brief game or a gentle pat on the head, but that was all. No basic care, no shelter from disease, just survival. Covered in fleas and ticks, their skin raw and infected, they waited. And then the day they feared came: the construction ended, and the workers stopped coming. Just like that, they were alone again. But hope arrived in the form of one compassionate worker who could not bear to leave them behind. He reached out for help, and Claudia, who had helped him with another rescue before, welcomed them into her shelter without hesitation. With veterinary care, proper nutrition, and a safe place to rest, they both began to heal, inside and out.
Kirah is an Australian Shepard mix, about 3.5 years old, weighs around 22 kilos.
Kira loves people of all ages; men, women, and children alike, and wags her tail enthusiastically whenever someone new visits the shelter. She spends her days playing joyfully with her furry friends and then happily finds a cool spot to relax and watch the fun continue around her.
Her favorite time of day? Walk time, of course! Kira struts out proudly, sometimes growling at passing dogs as if to say, “Look at me now, I am safe and loved!” While she is not a fan of cats and gets a little nervous around them, she’s completely unfazed by loud noises like traffic, thunder, or fireworks. This smart girl is getting the hang of crate sleeping and is learning the basic commands like “sit” and “come.” She is highly motivated by treats and absolutely adores getting pets and affection. Kira is ready for a forever home where she can keep learning, keep loving, and keep showing off just how far she has come.
Kirah’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Kirah into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Otto - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ The gentle soul ready to love you forever ~
A heartless man showed up one day in a neighborhood carrying a small box with four tiny puppies inside. He coldly threatened the people around that if no one took them, he would throw them into the river to be eaten by crocodiles. Heartbreakingly, he meant every word. They were malnourished, extremely skinny, and much too small for their age. Their bodies were dirty and covered in fleas, dehydrated, and infested with parasites. They were so weak and frail that it was clear they had suffered severe neglect, looking like they were moments away from giving up. The people knew they had no choice, and one kind soul took all four puppies in. Tragically, one of the little ones was already too weak to survive and passed away shortly after being rescued. But for the others, this was the first glimmer of hope they had ever known. The lady asked around for help and that was when Claudia stepped in and took them in. After a vet visit, and all tests and treatments very much needed were done, they got healthy and ready for a better future.
Otto looks like a Rhodesian Ridgeback Shepherd mix, is about 1.5 years old and weighs around 15.70 kilos.
Otto is a happy, affectionate pup who just needs a little time to feel safe before he shows you his whole heart. Once he trusts you, he is all in—sharing tail wags, soft snuggles, and the sweetest loyalty you could ever hope for. He loves humans of all ages and greets visitors at the shelter with a shy smile that quickly turns into warm enthusiasm. Otto is playful and gentle, and he never takes a single moment of kindness for granted. Every meal, every cuddle, every kind word fills him with gratitude. He is good on a leash, calmly exploring the world and meeting other dogs along the way. Otto has learned that car rides can mean adventure, and he is getting more comfortable with every trip. Past the puppy chewing stage, Otto is the perfect mix of energy and relaxation. He loves tug-of-war and playtime with his dog friends, but he also enjoys curling up for a peaceful nap. Loud noises like thunderstorms and fireworks don’t bother him at all; he’s a calm, steady presence even when things get noisy. This smart boy already knows commands like “ven” (come), “sentado” (sit), “vamos” (let’s go) and “no,” and he loves learning new things. Otto would thrive with an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and plenty of love.
Otto’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Otto into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Jackson - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ AWAY FROM DANGER, NOW READY FOR LOVE ~
He was just a puppy, and he had been given to a person that loves animals, but his life was in danger. The man admitted he was struggling greatly with addiction which led to violence and knew he could not care for a puppy. Concerned neighbors did not have space or resources but were determined to remove the pup from a terrible situation. We are grateful the man asked for help and that he surrender the puppy before any harm was done. Thanks to a network of compassionate people and Claudia opening a space in the shelter, the puppy is now safe, happy, healthy, and full of hope. He was taken to the vet where tests were done and thankfully, they came back negative to scary illnesses however he was full of internal and external parasites which were taken care of with antibiotics.
Jackson is a Jack Russel mix about 10 months old, and he weighs around 11.5 kilos.
Jackson gets along beautifully with everyone. He adores kids and would spend all day playing with the other dogs at the shelter if he could. When visitors arrive, he is the first to rush over, tail wagging, eager to greet them with his big puppy smile. Jackson loves his daily walks and knows that every car ride means an adventure, even if it is just a quick trip to the vet. He’s a confident little guy who is not bothered by thunderstorms, fireworks, or loud noises. His favorite thing in the world is to stay active and have fun. Jackson would thrive in a home with a very active family, ideally one that has another dog or a super active human to help him burn off his puppy energy. Jackson’s story didn’t end in tragedy… and now you can be the person who gives him the forever home he deserves. Let his story be more than just rescue, let it be the beginning of a life filled with love.
Jackson’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Jackson into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Nina - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ FROM GARBAGE TO GRATITUDE, SHE AWAITS HER FOREVER HOME ~
There was a female dog living on the streets with her mother and sister, searching through garbage just to survive. The irresponsible owner mistreated them, and heartbreakingly, all three were pregnant at the same time. A kind soul named Julie rescued them and brought them into her home, where they each gave birth to six puppies. A few years passed and although she tried to find them all families, Nina and a few others remained in her care. Then the unthinkable happened, Julie was suddenly asked to leave the house she was renting, with no warning. Thankfully, kind souls stepped in to help, making sure Nina and her grown babies would not end up back on the street. When Nina was rescued, she was fighting severe stomach parasites and low platelets from infections. With dedicated veterinary care and lots of love, she recovered beautifully and now it’s her time to find family to call her own.
Nina is about 5 years old, weighs around 29 kilos, and is a loving mixed-breed (the best there is) beauty.
Today, Nina is healthy, full of gratitude, and ready for a second chance at life; she is a sweet and gentle soul who has come such a long way. She is thriving at the shelter, where she gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and loves children of all ages when they come visit. Nina is not possessive over her food or toys and even shares her favorite cozy spot to sleep. After a few barks and making sure it is safe for visitors to be there, she greets them with a happy wag, and nothing seems to shake her calm spirit; not traffic, thunderstorms, or even fireworks.
While Nina is wonderful with other dogs and people, she prefers not to be around cats and will let them know with a loud bark. She enjoys her daily walks outside the shelter and is always up for a car ride, her tail wagging the entire way. Nina deserves a safe, loving home where she will never have to worry about food or fear again. If you’ve been thinking about opening your heart and home to a loyal friend, Nina is waiting to meet you.
Nina’s adoption fee is $500, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Nina into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Akina - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE ~
Akina’s story starts in a place where no pup should ever be born; a remote construction site, where her mom was abandoned while pregnant. Kind workers fed her scraps during the day, but when the tools were put away and the site emptied, she was left all alone. With no shelter, no support, and nothing but her strength, the brave mama gave birth to six tiny puppies and fought to keep them safe. But hidden far from help, the little family was invisible. Days passed and eventually the workers noticed that one puppy had passed on and another had gone missing. They understood that the family needed help immediately. When word reached Claudia, she did not think twice, she rushed in and rescued the survivors. The four puppies started getting the love and care they had never known, and the momma was adopted by a local woman that is very involved in animal rescue.
Akina is about 9 months old, weighs around 10.6 kilos, and is a very desirable mutt cuteness.
Akina is a bright, playful puppy with a heart full of love and curiosity. She adores people of all ages, whether they are familiar faces or new friends visiting the shelter. Confident and brave, Akina is not bothered by loud noises like traffic, thunderstorms, or fireworks; she takes everything in stride with her tail wagging. She absolutely loves playing with the other dogs and still has all the joyful puppy energy that makes every day an adventure. Long walks on the leash, fun car rides, and exploring new places are some of her favorite things. When the excitement winds down, she cannot get enough affection. She thrives on hugs, gentle words, and the feeling of being cherished. We are not sure yet how Akina feels about cats, but we would be happy to introduce her to them if you would like to know. What we do know is that she is ready to bring endless love and happiness into the right home. Akina is just a puppy, and her whole life is ahead of her so she is ready for a future filled with warmth, joy, and the kind of care every puppy deserves.
Akina’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Akina into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Neo - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ FROM TRASH TO JOURNEY TO LOVE ~
These puppies journey began in the most heartbreaking way: a woman walking by a trash pile noticed a plastic bag that was moving. Inside, to her horror, was an entire litter of puppies, abandoned and barely clinging to life. Neo was one of those lucky puppies.
Neo is about 1 year old, weighs around 12.7 kilos, and is a loving mixed-breed handsome male.
Despite his rough start, Neo has the sweetest heart. He gets along beautifully with people of all ages and is gentle with children. While he might be a little shy around new visitors at first, it does not take long before his curious and playful nature shines through. At the shelter, he plays joyfully with other dogs and does not mind sharing his food bowl, toys, or even his favorite napping spot. Neo is a true companion; friendly on walks, polite to dogs passing by, and a good passenger during car rides. He is affectionate with visitors and staff at the shelter, but new environments can make him a little anxious, and he is not a fan of being crated, but his resilience and intelligence shine through. He is incredibly caring, always checking in on his siblings and showing concern if they are upset. Neo would thrive in a loving home with kids to adore, another dog to be his best friend or a human ready to dote on him. He’s active, loyal, and ready to pour his whole heart into the family who gives him the chance he’s been waiting for.
Neo’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Neo into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Rambo - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ WAITING FOR HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER ~
He was adopted as a puppy by a family who wanted him to be a companion for their pug, but shortly after the family reached out to Nayeli, explaining that the owner was visually impaired and their limited resources made it impossible to care for both dogs, especially since Rambo was young, full of energy, and needed more than they could provide. When she went to pick him up, he was skinny, dirty, and clearly not getting the care he deserved. Thankfully, despite his condition, no serious infections were found—he was simply undernourished and had internal parasites, which were treated right away along with giving him supplements to regain his strength. The full medical protocol was started, and Rambo thrived in care.
Rambo is about 1.5 years old, weighs around 17 kilos, and is a Labrador mix.
Rambo gets along beautifully with people of all ages, whether it is men, women, teenagers, or even young children, Rambo’s friendly nature shines through. Although he hasn’t been tested with cats yet, that can be arranged if needed. At the shelter, Rambo has only been exposed to the usual noises and the company of other dogs. When he sees dogs outside, he might bark once or twice but does not show aggression or try to pick fights. He is a good boy who shares his food, toys, and sleeping spots with his dog friends, but he sometimes chews on things that catch his attention, so a good stash of chew toys would be ideal to keep him happy. When meeting new people, Rambo gets a little overexcited and wants to play right away, sometimes a bit roughly with playful, gentle nibbles, which is his way of showing he wants to engage. He is full of life, always moving, always curious, and not a fan of being picked up or feeling restricted. He prefers space to move freely and a respectful approach that lets him feel safe and confident. He would do best with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities, adventures, and can keep up with his energetic spirit and give him the loving, forever home he has been waiting for.
Rambo’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Rambo into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Cheney - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ HE BEAT THE ODDS… NOW HE’S READY TO BE YOURS ~
Similar to his sister Lucy, we are not exactly sure how this puppy ended up in the overcrowded government shelter, but what we do know is that he deserved a second chance. When a privately owned shelter was asked to take in a few dogs to help ease the city shelter’s load, this boy and his sister came along for the ride. Malnourished and battling anaplasma (a tick-borne illness that’s easy to treat with antibiotics), he just needed some TLC, antibiotics, and lots of cuddles, to become a healthy pup.
Cheney is a Terrier mix male about a year old and weights 6.5 kilos.
Cheney is a handsome pup who LOVES people of all ages once he has a chance to get comfortable with them. He starts off shy but doesn’t take long to warm up and then is ready to start asking for your attention. Cheney gets along greatly with other dogs and he’s sociable, playful, and loves car rides and daily walks (especially when he gets to say hi to new furry friends along the way). While he might be a bit unsure around bigger dogs at first, he does warm up to them. He likes to play tough guy and bark at new visitors, but don’t be fooled; he is a big softie at heart and turns into a cuddle bug in no time. Cheney is also past the puppy chewing stage and absolutely adores lounging on the sofa. He is learning that food is always coming, but he still likes to protect his meals. Once his bowl is empty, he is all about playtime and sharing toys with his doggy friends. We think Cheney would be happiest in a home with kids and maybe another dog his size — someone to play with, but not big enough to overwhelm him.
Cheney’s adoption fee is $600, which includes his flight, neutering, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Cheney into your family, apply now at mexpup.com (https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258. For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Julieta - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
~ A STORY OF RESILIENCE, HEARTBREAK AND HOPE ~
Julieta was just a puppy when she was abandoned on the streets with her mother and four siblings, left to fend for themselves with no food and the constant danger of passing cars. When they arrived at the city shelter, they were dirty, undernourished, and covered in fleas and ticks. Tragically, Julieta’s siblings didn’t survive—but she held on, finding comfort in the presence of her mother. For a long time, a cage at the shelter was all Julieta knew. It wasn’t much, but at least she had her mom by her side. Then suddenly, everything changed again. Her mother was adopted, leaving Julieta alone for the first time in her life. The world, already unfamiliar and scary, became even harder to navigate. Socializing was difficult for her and Norma knew that Julieta needed to get out of the shelter to have a chance at a new life. She found a foster home for her and things started to improve. She got to experience life outside of a cage and has learned, step by step, what love, and safety feel like.
Julieta is a beautiful black & white mixed breed dog. She is about 3 years old and weighs 19 kilos.
Julieta may have had a tough start in life, but beneath her shyness is a heart full of love just waiting to shine. She is sweet and affectionate, forming strong bonds with those who show her patience and kindness. She gets along well with adults and teenagers and is friendly with children. On her daily walks, she enjoys interacting with other dogs and watches cats with curiosity, never aggression. The world can still feel overwhelming to her at times. Loud noises and heavy traffic make her nervous, but with gentle reassurance, she is learning to feel safe. Having spent so much of her life without stability, she can be protective of her food, toys, and sleeping area. It’s not aggression, it is simply a habit from a life where she had to hold on to what was hers. With love and structure, she will continue to grow. Julieta is searching for a family who will give her the time she needs to adjust, someone who will show her that love doesn’t have to come with fear. Please help Julieta to find her family by sharing her album.
Julieta’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Julieta into your family, apply now at mexpup.com (https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258). For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

Toby - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
Stray dogs have a difficult life. Surviving on your own; food, shelter, water, safety can be hard to come by. A larger dog might have an easier time protecting itself, but finding the amount of food needed presents a bigger challenge. Such was the situation for this guy, who was on his own. A kind-hearted lady started feeding him and he kept coming back every day, but it was obvious he needed more than the food this lady could provide so she started looking for help and fortunately, when she contacted Nayeli there was an open space in the shelter and she was able to get him off the streets. He was filthy and malnourished, so the first step was to take him to the vet where he got a much-needed bath followed by tests. Fortunately, he was negative for the scary illnesses, so treatment was given for internal and external parasites as well as some vitamins and he was off for a brighter future. He does have a small involuntary movement of his front leg which the vet concluded was a likely a consequence of distemper. He is fully healed, and the tick doesn’t impact him in any way, it is just something that makes him a bit extra special.
Toby is a yellow Lab mix; he is approximately 5 years old and weighs 34 kilos.
Toby is a handsome boy who likes humans of all ages and is friendly with the rest of the dogs of various sizes in the shelter, however, he does not like cats. He rides well in cars and loves his out-of-the-shelter walks every day and especially loves water when they get to play in their pool on hot days. Although Toby is not alpha, he does not like being bossed around by male alpha dogs, so we think he would do best being with a female dog or the only dog in the home. He does not like other dogs getting in his food bowl which is easily fixed by simple separation – a bit of distance in the same room and he’s fine. We would love to see Toby go to a house with either a female dog, kids or an active family as he is very affectionate; he is a large dog with a child’s personality. He is noble and obedient. Please help Toby find his home by sharing his post so his forever family knows he is ready and looking for them.
The adoption fee for Toby is $500 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. If you are ready for Toby to join your family, please apply at mexpup.com (https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258) or, if you have any questions or need more information you can email [email protected]

Duke - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
Nayeli got a call, a concerned person had seen a puppy walking along a busy road, dodging the heavy traffic. She took off and rushed to the place, finding him running and scared. He was by himself, seemed lost and was afraid of the cars racing past him. When she tried to grab him, he immediately threw himself to the ground and peed out of fear. Although he was just a puppy, he was in bad shape; malnourished, filthy, and full of fleas. Nayeli managed to pick him up and took him to the vet where he was checked and tested for scary illnesses which fortunately came back negative. A very needed wash, vitamins and deworming started him on his health protocol, and then he was taken to the shelter for a fresh new start.
Duke is a mix of Labrador and Great Pyrenees; he is now 1.6 years old and weighs 30 kilos.
Duke is a gorgeous boy that loves humans of all ages. He gets along with all the dogs in the shelter and is social when meeting most new dogs on his walks outside. We don’t know if he gets along with cats but can be tested, if needed. He walks well on a leash and loves his daily outings. There is that one house with that one dog that does not like Duke, so he has begun to growl and bark back in response, but it’s definitely the exception to his interactions with other dogs. He is confident and is not food, toy or sleeping area possessive. Duke is a loving goofy boy that loves playing with kids and other dogs whenever he can. They have been working on his house training and getting him used to sleeping in a crate. We think his ideal home will be with an active family with or without kids or teenagers and maybe another dog so they can play together in the backyard.
The adoption fee for Duke is $550 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. If you are ready for Duke to join your family, please submit an application on mexpup.com or, if you have any questions or need more information you can email ashley@mexpup.com.
Rayas - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
This dog represents his name well; both because of his markings as well as the Mexican saying “otra raya mas al tigre” which translates as “another stripe in the tiger”. A very common story….. one more dog in the streets, wandering around by himself, looking for food and water around trash and dangerously crossing streets, disoriented. People don’t know how he got to the neighborhood, but he was not from there and they feared he would get hit by a car not being familiar with the streets, so they took him into their home and worked on a plan. They did what they could to get him healthy and to keep him safe. They reached out looking for help to find him a forever home and that is how Rayas became a MexPup. He has been through the full health protocol, is healthy and is now ready to find his forever home.
Rayas is a handsome mixed breed male; he is estimated to be between 1.5 to 2 years old and weighs approximately 25 kilos.
Rayas is a social dog that likes to meet people. He does well with humans of all sizes and with visitors. Rayas loves his daily walks and has no negative reaction when he sees other loose dogs on the street. However, he is protective of his food. Feeding him separately solves the issue. He shares toys and likes to play with other dogs, but when bedtime comes, he will growl if other dogs try to lay on his bed (reminds me of someone I know 😉). Rayas does well with medium and smaller sized dogs, but he is an alpha, so he doesn’t do well with some large dogs (if he feels threatened by them) and he isn’t a fan of cats. He isn’t bothered by loud noises and wants to please. Rayas has a lot of strength and would excel with an active and energetic family that takes him out on adventures. He loves running, exploring, digging holes, playing with toys and playing with other dogs. Rayas is ready for a home where he will be part of a family, so please share his album so they know that he is looking for them.
The adoption fee for Rayas is $550 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. If you are ready for Rayas to join your family, please submit an application at mexpup.com or, if you have any questions or need more information you can email ashley@mexpup.com.

Waffles - In a PV foster & looking for a loving FURever home
PEACE Animals Spay & Neuter clinics are a key to the work being done in the Puerto Vallarta area to end the suffering of animals. These mobile clinics are on the front lines each week going into the communities where help is needed. A while back, during a clinic in the outskirts of town, a dog wandered into the clinic and went straight into a crate. Animals are amazingly smart. This sweet girl was in trouble, needed help and found people that she hoped would do something for her. She was 100% correct. Maria, one of the volunteers at the clinic did all she could to find a foster home for her and at that very moment the pup had a foster and also became a MexPup. She had a bad case of mange (thankfully the non-contagious type) but she still had extremely swollen feet and cracks in the skin all over her body. She was alert and had clear eyes but was extremely weak. Waffles was taken to get vet care and due to the severity of her swollen feet and skin cracks all over her body she remained in the clinic. Once she was stabilized, she moved to the foster home where she started her recovery and new life.
Waffles is an American Staffordshire terrier female about 7.5 years old and currently weighs approximately 22 kilos.
Waffles has been in care for many years now. Sadly, time has continued to tick by, and she’s just been unlucky. When she was younger and finding her way, she was a handful and none of her applications were a good match. As the years passed, I think people saw her post and thought there must be a reason no one else wanted her and so they didn’t inquire or give us a chance to tell them more about her. We really hope that Waffles will finally get her chance. We know there is a great family out there for her somewhere.
Waffles is doing well. She is happy, healthy, and absolutely ready to find her family. In general, Waffles gets along with some dogs, but she would be best as the only animal in the home since she can be possessive of her belongings, including water and food. Being a stray is difficult and some dogs are still fearful of some of the dangers they faced on the streets; Waffles gets very stressed with loud noises, such as fireworks or thunder. We think she would do best with an experienced, confident owner; she is a great dog, but is an alpha so needs guidance & leadership. We are so happy that she has recovered and now, we are excited for her to find a family to call her own. Please share this post so that we can give this lovely girl the great life she deserves.
The adoption fee for Waffles is $450 and includes flight, spay, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. Please email [email protected] or submit an application on mexpup.com

CLEO
~ From lost and alone to safe and loved
Laura was having lunch at the food court of a busy mall when she noticed a little dog darting between tables, clearly terrified and completely out of place. Unable to stand by and watch, she jumped up to help. Soon, three security guards joined in, but rather than trying to help the pup, they were more concerned with chasing her out of the mall altogether. With heavy traffic just outside, Laura knew she could not let that happen. Thankfully, two young girls stepped in to help her corner the frightened dog and get her to safety. Laura searched everywhere for her family, asking around the mall, posting photos online, and hoping someone would come forward. Days turned into weeks, but no one ever claimed her. She was taken to the vet, started her health protocols, and is preparing for a fresh start—a chance to finally know what it means to be loved and protected.
Cleo is a Min Pin Chiweenie mix about 9 months old and weighs around 5 kilos.
Cleo is a happy, confident, and clever little puppy with a huge spirit packed into her tiny body. She is the kind of dog who fills every moment with joy, always ready to give and receive love. Her days are full of play with her foster siblings, and when she is finally tired, she picks the funniest places to nap, sometimes sprawled across her foster dad’s sandals, other times curled up with her head resting on another dog’s leg or tummy, but she does not like to be crated. Cleo never misses a meal and often tries to “help” the other dogs finish theirs (though they usually remind her with a little growl that their food is off-limits!). She adores her daily walks, soaking up every sight and sound like it is the best adventure in the world. At bedtime, she likes to sleep in her little bed on top of the big bed, just to be sure she is close to her pack. This sweet, funny girl is ready to bring endless happiness and love to a forever family. If you are looking for a pup who will fill your life with laughter, cuddles, and companionship, Cleo is waiting to meet you.
Cleo’s adoption fee is $600, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Cleo into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

COSMO
Cosmo is a 7 month old 4.5kg ish scottie type boy. He was forcibly removed from a neighbors house when we heard him being beaten incredibly brutally. The biggest initial concern was head trauma since his eyes were bleeding and shortly after rescuing him he started presenting with seizures lasting several hours at a time. Thankfully these only lasted for the first 2 days and since then he has had absolutely 0 seizures and is truly just a fun loving and happy guy. The vet believes that since he was only around 10-12 weeks old when he was beaten, his brain was young and elastic enough that it was able to make a full recovery as he was still growing.
We are so grateful that we happened to be home and able to rescue Cosmo because he is incredibly special and the biggest comment we get when we are out and about is that he lights up a room. He is incredibly social and happy, and he is so entertaining that I am content to sit and watch him like a TV show at night. His true love is playing with toys, and although he loves to share his toys with his dog siblings he will take great joy in running around and playing by himself, he is great at fetch and once he has tuckered himself out he loves to come and rest his head on your chest and stare intently into your eyes with complete devotion. Cosmo goes to daycare a couple of days a week just because he´s very playful and I thought he would enjoy it, but he is more than happy to chill at home with his dog friends, has absolutely 0 destructive tendencies and I can see on my cameras that when he´s home for a few hours he will either play with his toys or go and have a nap in his crate or on the sofa.
He is vocal while he is playing but he never barks at the doorbell or sounds outside so he would probably be a great apartment dog. He is great with everyone he meets and loves to come along in the car to run errands with me. Cosmo is fab off leash and loves exploring but he doesn´t have a ton of stamina on leash and starts to flag after about 30 or 40 mins or so, so he doesn’t particularly need a very athletic family although I´m sure when he is living in a place that isn´t 95% humidity half the time he would be happy with longer walks when there is time but it isn´t a necessity for him. We have a cat that lives in the plant pot outside our front door and he is excited to see her but has a healthy respect for her claws and they haven´t interacted much besides her hissing at him but I´m sure he would do well with a friendly cat. His only weird quirk that we believe could be linked somehow to brain trauma is that he takes a couple of minutes extra to chew his food and gets stressed if he can see other dogs while he is eating, I just pop his bowl in the other room or in his crate and that´s the only adjustment he needs.
Cosmo's adoption fee is $600 which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Cosmo into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258
PLEASE NOTE: Due to airline embargos anyone interested in Cosmo must be willing to travel to YVR for pick up, some flight arrivals may be in the evening and adopters must coordinate

MIKE
~ MIKE IS STILL WAITING… BUT HE HASN’T LOST HOPE ~
Rescued from the streets as a puppy, he spent his first 2 years in the local government shelter, watching others leave while he stayed behind. At first, he would cower in the corner of his cage and was afraid of people and other dogs but as time passed, his true personality blossomed. He soon became a favorite of the volunteers and staff with his smile and his friendliness, even with being in a cage for 23 ½ hours a day; unfortunately, most people looking to adopt were looking for other sizes, ages or colors of dogs. Most agree that black dogs do tend to get overlooked in shelters. Some think it’s because it can be difficult to photograph and to capture their expressions, while others think there is a stigma. Thankfully, this guy has not lost hope, even after 3 years of waiting. Now, he is in a foster home, finally experiencing love and daily walks.
Mike is a classic mix breed male about 4 years old and weights approximately 20 kilos.
He is a happy, friendly boy who loves people of all ages, he just likes a bit of a slow approach when meeting new friends. Mike is wonderful with other dogs, shares his toys and food without a fuss, and even respects cats (though he’s a little curious about them!). Loud noises do not scare him, he is a medium/high energy guy, and he lives for car rides…I am sure he is wondering where he is going and what exciting thing, he will experience next. His life outside the shelter has been all about firsts, and he seems to look forward to each of them. He would do great in an active home, going on hikes and would make a spectacular adventure buddy. Mike is a sweetheart, with his big smile and even bigger heart and now, he just needs someone to take him on the ultimate ride, to his forever home. Please help us to make that happen by sharing his album!
Mike’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neutering, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Mike into your family, apply now at mexpup.com (https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258). For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]

DAISY
~ FROM UNCERTAIN BEGINNINGS TO JOYFUL DISCOVERIES ~
Daisy’s life began in the shadows - hidden away in a dark, cramped backyard where people had her parents as breeding machines. She shared her space with nearly 30 other chihuahuas who lived in heartbreaking conditions, locked in cages 24/7 while the greedy backyard breeders cashed in on their suffering. Her luck changed at a few months old when a long-time animal rescuer Karla heard about their situation; she didn’t hesitate and alerted local authorities, who stepped in and discovered the truth. The backyard breeder was fined, and thanks to Karla’s courage and big heart, custody of all 30 dogs was transferred to her. With help from generous donations, every dog received full vet care and was spayed or neutered, so they could finally begin a new chapter. Being just a puppy, Daisy was adopted by an adult couple, and all seemed to be a happy ending but suddenly, their living situation changed when their granddaughter moved into the house and started abusing the dog; they decided to rehome her and there she was, looking for a home again.
Daisy is a chihuahua female about 2 years old and weights 4 kilos.
Daisy is a bright, curious, and loving pup who’s the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. She is small but mighty, especially when playing tug-of-war with her favorite toys (some bigger than she is!). Sharing is caring, and Daisy proves it; she happily shares her toys and food with her foster siblings and even snuggles up in a crate with them at night. Every morning, she is the first to greet you with happy tail wags, ready for a day of fun! She is still getting used to walking on a leash and can be a little skittish, but she is learning to love her daily strolls, especially when she gets to stop and smell the flowers. Daisy has been showered with love in her foster home, but now she’s ready for the best part: finding her very own FURever family!
Daisy’s adoption fee is $600, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Daisy into your family, apply now at mexpup.com (http://www.mexpup.com/mexpup-adoption-application.html). OREO
~ A SWEET GIRL READY FOR A FRESH START ~
She was just a puppy who was in the care of a kind lady who reached out to Nayeli for help with her food and medical needs. For many years, she lived quietly in that home, but her life was not always easy as the lady was hardly able to cover her basic needs so when the shelter had a bit of space and things had gotten too hard for the woman, Nayeli brought this sweet girl into care. She arrived dirty, covered in fleas, but with a gentle spirit and so much love to give. She was given a full check-up, tested negative for scary illnesses and she was treated for parasites, getting her started on the medical protocol so she would be ready for the next chapter of her life.
Oreo is about 5 years old, weighs around 35.5 kilos, and is a Shepherd mix.
Oreo is sweet, loving, and has a heart as big as her playful energy. At the shelter, she is known for being the perfect hostess, greeting visitors with tail wags and kisses, playing happily with her dog friends, and even getting along wonderfully with cats. Nothing seems to shake Oreo’s confidence, not even loud traffic, motorcycles, or unexpected noises. She loves hopping in the car for a ride and looks forward to her daily walks where she can stop to smell the flowers and throw a few playful barks at dogs she meets along the way. Oreo is the perfect balance between relaxed and playful. She is gentle when sharing her food, toys, or even her favorite napping spot. She enjoys being close to people, happily soaking up love and attention. She would thrive in a home with space to roam, nap, and enjoy life at her own pace. Oreo is ready to give her heart to a family who will finally give her the forever home she deserves.
Oreo’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting. If you are ready to welcome Oreo into your family, apply now at https://form.jotform.com/250991010499258 . For any questions or more information, feel free to email [email protected]
