Wanda: In a PV foster & looking for a loving home

Wanda is an adorable little spaniel mix of around 8 to 10 years old.
Wanda is a very mellow and calm dog. She is really loyal and will patiently wait by the door for you to come back home. Once she chooses you, she will love you forever.
Despite her age, Wanda loves to go on walks and hikes. She is a perfect on leash walker, she just walks besides you without pulling. And also off leash Wanda is good. She does however likes adventure, so sometimes she will take a path less chosen and climb a steep hill or stumble down a little ravine. Wanda is not bothered by loud traffic or busy streets, she will just walk beside you. When not on a walk, Wanda will find a comfy place to chill or sleep for the rest of the day.
Her mellow character also shines through when meeting other dogs and people on walks. She will sniff the dogs and allow human cuddles. However honestly she isn’t really interested in making new friends. If she has her own human, she is content. Wanda loves to stick her little head out of the window during a car ride and you can easily take her to lunch, she will just sleep under your chair.
Wanda really bonds with one person, so ideally she would be best in a single household or a house that isn't too busy. Sometimes she can get a bit protective over her human, because she wants to stick together like glue. However you can always win over her heart by giving her some nice treats. She will politely sit and take it carefully out of your hand. Wanda has a funny character that will shine through once she knows you.
Adoption fee for Wanda is $450 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines and full vetting.
Wanda can be on a flight into BC in April if an adoptive home is found.

Edgar Allan Poe(g): In a PV foster & looking for a loving home

Edgar Allen Poe(g) is a handsome looking pug from around 3years old weighing almost 30 pounds ! He is a large boy, and not fat, just actually a big pug !
His appearance matches his personality, he is a clown and likes to goof around. Sometimes he can be a bit hyper, however other times he just shuts off and falls asleep snoring.
Edgar enjoys being in the company of people. He loves cuddles and is also fond of keeping your feet warm. He is a friendly little dude, who likes attention. He is always excited to meet new people and likes to receive cuddles from strangers.
Edgar loves to go on walks, when he sees his harness he runs towards you and jumps up. On the walk he starts off a bit pulley because he’s so excited. But after a couple of minutes he will calm down. He isn’t scared of cars or other loud noises. Edgar is also a bold little man, when street dogs run up to him while barking aggressively, he isn’t afraid to face them off. However he probably just wants to make a new friend, because that’s his main goal when meeting new dogs.
At the moment Edgar lives in a house with other male dogs that like to mark their territory. So he joins in with them. Despite that Edgar is house trained. Besides marking he doesn’t show any other male dominancy. He enjoys being surrounded by the dogs and loves to play with his friends.
As well as getting attention and making friends, Edgar really loves food. He is always excited to eat and he learned quickly that when he is in a crate he gets his meal. So sometimes while passing a crate, Edgar will jump in expecting some food.
Edgar is not picky for his new home, as long as he has some exercise to lose all his energy he will be happy. He would enjoy a dog friend, however being the only dog in the house that gets all the attention will please him too. Edgar hasn’t been tested with cats, but doesn’t show any aggression towards them when meeting them on walks. A house with kids would also be fine
Adoption fee for Edgar is $500 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines and full vetting.
Edgar can be on a flight into BC in April if an adoptive home is found.

Tommy: In a PV foster & looking for a loving home

Meet Tommy. a 10 month old mixed breed.
Tommy is a very sweet and extremely affectionate boy who is too smart for his own good ! Tommy will need people who can help him work on his manners and a little bit of confidence building when meeting strange new dogs.
When new people come into the house Tommy is the first one to greet them with excitement. He love to meet people.
Tommy currently lives with 20+ other dogs of all ages and sizes. He gets along and co lives with every single dog currently. We do however think Tommy would probably like to be the only dog in the home as he just likes to have all the attention, but could live with another dog if it was the right family.
Tommy tends to bark at most people he sees while on leash, not aggressively just more curiously, but normally stops after a little while and becomes friendly. Though on the beach he is very chilled with people, often greeting those he sees and playing. He is a little playful with kids, or at least seems interested in them. Tommy doesn’t walk side to side, or pull, albeit a little scared of the cars when walking adjacent to the roads if they are noisy. Moreover, his ability to distinguish the difference between a busy road and pavement is rather poor as several times he has drifted towards the road when on a walk in the street.
Tommy's favourite volunteer Jack takes Tommy on the back route, he walks Tommy off leash with no issues, apart from the barking of strangers previously mentioned. He doesn’t run off and comes back to me, even though he gets very excited and loves to run around. As with the back route, he walks Tommy off leash on the beach where he is just as good, though he always chases pigeons.
Tommy can be protective of Jack because he is the most bonded to him, and within that regard barks and shows his teeth to other dogs when Jack is sitting down and he is next to him or on his lap. We want to stress Tommy is NOT aggressive by any means he will just need people to work on a little bit of people possessiveness with him. He has never attacked another dog and never would as quite honestly hes a bit of a chicken, but his growling has gotten him one or two nips from other dogs not tolerating it. Though of more recent times, Tommy made friends with a dog and was incredibly playful with it and not showing any signs of jealousy when Jack gave that dog attention. He also seems to make friends with most dogs when out on walks, and always wants to come in contact with them if given the chance.
We feel like Tommy is a nature dog, where he can go for long walks and run. He needs someone that will keep him active and will nourish him with affection. He is a very loyal dog and will follow you about once the bond is there. He will cuddle and nap with you or go on an adventure depending on what you want to do as he is happy to follow.
Tommy has been good with children. Jealousy is the only potential problem with children if there is another dog around. Due to this we would likely say older children.
We would need to cat test Tommy.
Tommy has been doing well with house training but has constant access to where he is meant to go so would likely need reminding in a new home.
Tommy can be on a flight into BC in the coming months once an adoptive home is found.
Adoption fee for tommy is $550 and covers neuter, vaccines, full vet testing and flight
