Mooch - Has been adopted !

Mooch was wandering the streets of 5 de Diciembre in bad shape. They had never seen him before, and they had lived in the area for a long time. He was emaciated, was missing fur in many places, and simply looked horrible. He was doing all he could to latch onto someone, anyone. He showed how friendly he was by slowly coming up to greet people and/or their dogs with a wagging tail and a friendly posture. When Todd & Patty saw him, it was clear he was on a downward spiral that would speed up each day he remained on the streets. Sadly, their own dogs weren´t keen on this stranger, so while Todd took them home, Patty befriended this sad-looking guy and waited for Todd to return with the car. They immediately got him to the vet to give him a chance at life. We can only assume at some point Mooch had a family. Why he ended up on the streets is unknown, but sadly no one was looking for him. Thankfully Claudia was able to provide a foster home and Mooch began his road to recovery. It took time, but with medicated baths and other treatments, he has fully recovered.
This handsome Lab/ Springer Spaniel mix is about 9 years old and weighs approximately 24 kilos.
Mooch is a lovely gentleman that gets along with all the dogs he meets as well as adults and children of all ages. He is way past his chewing stage and is not food or toy possessive. He behaves very well when walking on a leash and greets visitors with a gentle welcome bark. He has a calm personality and enjoys spending time laying on the grass while watching the world go by. Please help us find this senior boy a loving home where he can relax, get belly rubs and be a part of a family.
The adoption fee for Mooch is $400 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight if a foster or adoptive home is found. Please email cass@mexpup.com or submit an application on mexpup.com

Jessie - Has been adopted !

Claudia did not understand why a beautiful little dog could have been tied to a tree on the street without access to food and water but she knew for sure she was not going to leave her behind. She asked around and nobody seemed to know where that broken little soul came from so, she did what her heart dictated; untied the dog and put her in the car to take her to the vet to get checked. After tests were done and being sure she did not have any scary illnesses, gave her de-worming, treatment for ticks and vitamins to recover weight and strength, the new Jessie headed to the shelter for a good wash and proper food and water.
Jessie is a beautiful small to midsize Mexican mutt (one of the best-known breeds) about 2 years old and weighs approximately 6.5 kilos.
Jessie is a friendly girl that gets along with all the dogs and cats in the shelter as well as adults and children of all ages. She would share her food and toys with the rest of the dogs during play time, walks good on leash and is house trained. She enjoys her long daily walks in the neighborhood which are quite challenging for her as she wants to chase bikes or motorbikes when they come out of nowhere but also responds well to corrections; a strong NO will take care of that. She is shy at first when meeting new people but after a bit she warms up and shows how adorable she can be. Jessie also got the chance to spend some time in a foster home in downtown PV and this is what her foster home had to say about her: “Jessie has been a welcome guest in my home. She gets along well with my 12 year old dog and the neighborhood dogs. Jessie walks well on a leash and is fully house-trained, able to go quite a few hours inside without accidents. Jessie likes to play with toys and loves her walks. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an energetic young lady. Jessie is very affectionate and loves to snuggle.
The adoption fee for Jessie is $550 and includes flight, spay, vaccines and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. Please email cass@mexpup.com or submit an application on mexpup.com
